MOSQUITOES

MOSQUITO CONTROL AWARENESS WEEK

JUNE 24-30, 2018

Mosquitoes need water to complete their life cycle. In fact, three of the four stages of a mosquito’s life cycle occur in water.  To reduce your mosquito problem, simply eliminate standing water throughout your yard by:

  • Clearing gutters of debris

  • Cleaning pet
    water dishes regularly

  • Repairing leaky outdoor faucets

  • Changing water in bird baths weekly

  • Plugging tree holes

  • Checking and emptying any small container that may collect water, including children’s toys, bottles, buckets and overturned garbage can lids

You can also reduce the pesky mosquitoes biting you by wearing light colored, loose-fitting clothing.  Mosquitoes are more attracted to dark clothing and can easily bite through tight-fitting clothing.

Mosquitoes are more than just a nuisance, they are dangerous.  Protect yourself and your family from mosquito bites that can spread diseases such as Zika and West Nile Virus.  If you need additional help against these persistent pesks, give us a call about our Perimeter Control Program.
